Judging

Judging will begin on Wednesday, April 15th and then continue for the next four Wednesdays.  All submissions will be judged based on multiple criteria. Does it make us laugh? Does it make us feel? Does it make us more aware of pet anxiety in some way? How original or creative is it?  These questions and others will apply. A total of 25 winners will be selected and up to five (5) winners will be announced by 1 pm EST every Friday after the start on April 15th. All winners will be notified by email and announced on our Facebook page. Each winner will receive $1,000 in prize money. Prize is subject to all US tax regulations, and winner will be responsible for all taxes incurred. Prizes will be sent within one week of winner selection each week (assuming all required information is provided by the winner).

FAQs

  • Do I have to include a dog or cat in my submission? No, but we really love animals. And they’re cute!

  • I entered in the first week, but didn't win. Do I need to re-submit my piece? No, once you have submitted your piece, you are eligible to win any week during contest.

  • What specific criteria are your judges looking for? Winners will be selected based on originality, creativity, relevant content, clarity of expression humor and/or emotional impact of the entry. Here are some questions the judges will ask themselves in selecting a winner: Does it make us laugh? Does it make us feel? Does it make us more aware of pet anxiety in some way? How original or creative is it?
