About ThunderWorks

ThunderWorks is a leader in the pet calming industry. Ten years ago, our founder created the ThunderShirt as a way to help his dog Dosi cope with her fear of thunderstorms. Since then, our product line has expanded to include many other calming and walking solutions as a way for pets and their families to live better lives. Learn more about each of our products by visiting the product pages in the main menu.

Judging will begin on Wednesday, April 15th and then continue for the next four Wednesdays.  All submissions will be judged based on multiple criteria. Does it make us laugh? Does it make us feel? Does it make us more aware of pet anxiety in some way? How original or creative is it?  These questions and others will apply. A total of 25 winners will be selected and up to five (5) winners will be announced by 1 pm EST every Friday after the start on April 15th. All winners will be notified by email and announced on our Facebook page. Each winner will receive $1,000 in prize money. Prize is subject to all US tax regulations, and winner will be responsible for all taxes incurred. Prizes will be sent within one week of winner selection each week (assuming all required information is provided by the winner).

ThunderWorks is no stranger to the creative industry. Over the years, we have used inspiration from and worked with artists like you to promote awareness of pet anxiety and our products as solutions. To help inspire you, here are some examples of things we’ve created that spawned from different forms of art.

Other Resources:

  • Do I have to include a dog or cat in my submission? No, but we really love animals. And they’re cute!

  • Can I submit more than one piece? Yes.  However...because we’re trying to help out as many artists as possible, we will only award up to one prize per artist. There is no limitation on the number of pet-anxiety-inspired art you can submit.

  • I entered in the first week, but didn't win. Do I need to re-submit my piece? No, once you have submitted your piece, you are eligible to win any week during contest.

  • What specific criteria are your judges looking for? Winners will be selected based on originality, creativity, relevant content, clarity of expression humor and/or emotional impact of the entry. Here are some questions the judges will ask themselves in selecting a winner: Does it make us laugh? Does it make us feel? Does it make us more aware of pet anxiety in some way? How original or creative is it?
